Final Shot...Seriously?

Once it started, all I heard was:

"Yellow wheat...red wheat...wheat with feathers...Cream of Wheat"

"Soon we will be covered by wheat"

"Did you say...wheat?"

"Wheat"

Fittingly pretentious ending to a movie that would have made Tennessee Williams roll his eyes and say, "Lighten up Francis."

You sound like a vulgarian.

LOL! That's probably true Joey...

I made cocktail weenies and meatballs. Dig in!

So funny! I had to rewind that part because I thought she called her a "Bulgarian."

You sound like a vulgarian.

And someone who knocks vases off of tables while jazzercizing!

Seriously though, I find this film so pretentious, even though some of the acting's good.

Can't believe how these actors were able to say these lines with a straight face. It's an entertaining movie but Allen is far better at making fun of intellectual talk (as he does in so many movies) than actually trying to be intellectual himself.

He takes himself way too seriously in this movie and what sounds natural in a swedish movie from the 50's or 60's, just sounds ridicolous and pretentious when he tries to convert it to english speaking cinema.

With that being said I still love his movies.
