Near the middle of the movie, there's a scene where Lexie is practicing with her new coach, in a rink that looks kind of small but also looks like it's different from other rinks, in that it appears to be on an upper level. (Most rinks are at ground level.) Any ideas where they filmed that?

I think it was the old Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs.

I guess the scene was filmed on a practice rink, not the main arena. It is definitely ground level.
Thanks, but it doesn't look like ground level: if you look out the window, you can see that it's at the level of the upper parts (not quite the tops) of the trees outside.
shareI have the movie on DVD. There is a shot of the Broadmoor Hotel that shows the practice rink at the same ground level as Cheyenne Lake. The only parts of the trees you can't see are the lower trunks.
According to Wikipedia, the old ice arena closed in 1994.
