'I think Dubois deserves a round of applause'

Even though Smerko was being sarcastic when he said this, and it's true that Dubois was a bit of an idiot for driving all the way to Philadelphia before realizing he was in the wrong direction. But considering that Dubois was up all night and all the next day, drank nearly a whole bottle of whiskey, he held up pretty well. (It's not as easy as it looks.) He saved Grace from the guy with the condiment fetish, got her to the studio, and was instrumental in her getting the exclusive pictures of the Beatles she wanted.

I agree with you 100%. Dubois has to be one of my fave characters from this film & how he stayed awake I'll never know.

The scene where he came to Grace's rescue almost seemed like the inspiration for the scene where Marty McFly's father knocks Biff out in Back to the Future. Both were done by the same team of filmmakers too.

Of all the characters in the story, Grace's arch is my favorite.

When she uses her hard-earned $50 to save Dubois, that's, well, the stuff that movie scripts are made of. Plus she got her photos in the end, nice and close (karma!)

Goes to show that, as McCartney likes to keep repeating, the Beatles were all about love.
