Favorite Scene

Whats everyone's favorite scene, mine is when Nancy Allen is hiding in their hotel room under the bed and the Fab 4 come in and one of them drops his pants. Her reaction to the whole situation is just so hysterical. She lifts her head and it looks like she kinda hits it.

Funnier yet is if you know the background....Eddie Deezen is a real Beatles fan himself!!!

I was going to say the carpet ripping scene too.

Wendie Jo Sperbe and Eddie Deezen had just earlier split up their little partnership in the street, with Deezen yelling at Sperber for calling him her boyfriend.

"You say you love Ringo, but when something better comes along, . . . "

I thought all of that was funny.

Then she gets the phone contest and just tears into the hotel and there he is again, cutting up the carpeting.

Yea, that was very funny.

They knew who each other was and they just went about their mania business.

reply

It was tough, but I narrowed it down to three:

1. When the cop on the street accidentally starts a riot by stepping on some girl's foot and she starts screaming in pain and the other people in the crowd start screaming along with her.

2. When Rosie jumps out of a moving car to win a radio contest.

3. When the elevator is stuck between two floors and Rosie picks up and throws "Ringo" out of the elavator into the hallway.

You know when theres that british reporter outside of the hotel where the beatles are at. And he's talking to one crazy fan and the fan say's she wants to marry John. Awww....it was so cute, then she faints! Then the reporter says, "Well, thats Beatlemania!" I love it! And any scene with Rosie is funny!

reply

Great choices!!

And the bit with Nancy Allen in the Beatles hotel room is priceless! :-)

reply

Nancy Allen kissing Paul's bass, kissing some "beatle's hair" that she took from a hairbrush... just hillarious.

I love all the scene, I like the end when the beatles run to the car and drive off ,, so cool I know its not the real bealtes but its look gr8, John My Fave Beatles xx

RIP River Phoenix
RIP Christopher Reeve
RIP Heather O'Rourke
RIP John Lennon

One scene is outside when someone steps on a girl's foot and she screams, setting off a cascade of other girls joining in.

Second, and probably the best, IMO, is the actual performance on the Ed Sullivan Show. The technical aspects are brilliant! The Beatles are only shown on control room monitors and in the viewfinders of the cameras, but you can see the bodies of the actors in the background, perfectly mimmicking every move in sync with the actual performance. Very, very well done.

When the maid shakes her mop outside of the hotel window and the fans think it's one of the Beatles shaking their hair. That is hilarious!!

Every time Rosie throws the dimes into the phone.

When the fans fall off the limo that Dubois is driving.

When Rosie throws herself out the moving limo.

When the cop steps on one of the fans feet and starts a parade of screaming.

When one of the fans started talking about John Lennon being married and she just breaks down and starts sobbing.

So many good scenes!

Eddie Deezen ? is caught in the hotel room by the police and they one exclaims.

"Watch it! He's got a lamp"

maybe one of my favorite lines from a movie of all time

I love the scenes with Wendi Jo and Eddie Deezen:

When they are running to catch the elevator and he gets caught in between the doors. For some reason, this just cracks me up (I'm laughing now as I'm typing this!)

Also, when he and Rosie first call into the radio station to win the tickets, and he answers the question about who is the youngest Beatle incorrectly. The way he yells "It's Ringo, Ringo, you crackpot!" just cracks me up. And also after they get busted for being in the hotel room, and the cop calls him a little s#*t, and he says, "Who are you calling little?!" TOO FUNNY!!

Definately for me the best seen is when smerko, tries to pick up the 2 girls in the cafeteria, and they say you look like paul, oh yeah lots of people tell me I look like newman, that scene is classic.

Kinda even funnier because the girl who played Janis Goldman (the same one who Smerko is chasing around) is Susan Kendall Newman, Paul Newman's daughter in real life!

reply

"Watch it! He's got a lamp"

"...And it's lit!" adds another cop. Hilarious!

I pretty much like the whole movie

i like the scene when pam is in the car with the creep she's about to marry and she says she needs to get out of the car and there's more things to life than getting married

Like what?
Like seeing The Beatles!

that's what i would be like too

R.I.P John Lennon

It was actually:
"I wanna hold your glands"
And it was Ringo's picture in the closet.

But my favorite scene was when the maid found Pam underneath the bed and ran away screaming. Then when she's practically crying talking to the police, and they were all so nice to her.
And when Rosie jumped outta the car to make the call.
I definitely laughed my ass off at that.

I love when Ed Sullivan gets angry at "Ringo".

SIT DOWN! Jesus Christ!

Sorry sweetheart. No pro bono for boning a pro.

reply

I also like the hotel room scene, especially when Pam kisses the guitar.

I also liked the scene with the cardboard Paul McCartney!

"Nothings gonna change my world!"

reply

"I also like the hotel room scene, especially when Pam kisses the guitar."

Yeah, that was my favourite scene along with the scene with the big guy and the prostitute.

I just wanted to add that Wendy Jo Sperber passed away a couple of years ago of breast cancer. Rest in peace Wendy Jo. You were a another wonderful talent who died too young.

Out of my 3 favorite scenes#1 has to be the hotel room scene with Nancy Allen. she just goes nuts over seeing the Beatle stuff allover the room (what '64 teenager wouldnt have) #2 the barber shop scene. eye patched barber, strict dad and the possibilty of getting a crew cut. #3 the hooker scene. the part where teresa saldana (grace) comes trutting out of the elevator and down the hallway. she all ready to kick in the door but chickens out and hides in the closet.

reply

I love all the scenes that have been mentioned already... and the ending of course. I was feelin bad for Grace, thinkin that of all the girls she'd be the one that wouldn't get what she wanted

Besides all the others, the Three Stooges moment in the scene with the girls in the janitor's closet:

Rosie (to Grace): "The elevator's here!"
Grace (to Pam): "The elevator's here!"
Pam (to nobody): "The el-"
