i dont mean horribly done, its just some scenes that i cant watch..that i have to turn away and or look away. its kind of hard .
i just felt she was so helpless. sort of wish she had a cellphone.
she is too gullible or too trusting to them that they wont harm her.
You should watch Martyrs or A Serbian Film.

Oh, god. I watched "Martyrs" in August (so that's, what? Nearly half a year ago now?) and I still can't get some of that imagery out of my head. What I saw of "A Serbian Film" was so bizarrely over the top that it actually bothered me less, if that makes any sense.
I haven't yet seen "Salo," though, so I'll hold off judgment between the lot of them until I do. (Well, IF I do. I've been warned by several people that if "Irréversible" bothered me - which it did - I should skip "Salo"...so it may take a night of liquid courage!)

I guess it depends on the order too. I watched Salo after a lot of these, so I was somewhat desensitized. In 1975 I would've dropped dead, I'm sure.
shareI realize this is a late reply, but I just found this in my collection and started playing it and pretty much the same thing entered my mind. Maybe 'cause I have a daughter, but I still had to skip the rape parts, and Salo I couldn't watch through for years! I have Martyrs and Irreversible too. It's kinda funny, but her getting back didn't bother me at all!

shareYes, I think it really captures the brutality and cruelty of sexual assault quite well. The violence is disturbing and hard to watch, but at least it is honest and doesn't make it look glamorous. I can't even imagine what it would be like for someone being put through this in real life because you know it must happen all the time.
