Uhhhh Where the heck was Liv Ullman's nomination?

As great as Ingrid was, Liv was even better.

How can you nominate one and not the other when they were both so intregal to the story. Its like nominating Geena Davis for Thelma and Louise and snubbing Susan Sarandon. Or nominating Shirley Maclaine for Terms of Endearment and snubbing Debra Winger.

Well, the Acadamy has never made the best of choices, but I agree she should have gotten nominated.

Tho Liv was great in part as a bitter daughter ( I felt Eva would have tears while crying/spewing her pent up pain? ) Ingrid's facial expressions and mannerisms were as usual quite wonderful. Also, I beg to differ on reviewers view of her robbed beauty. She was quite handsome in AS, sadly aprox 4 years before her passing.

Both Liv & Ingrid were worthy of an Oscar!

I completely agree, but I still think Bergman's performance was slightly better.

I was thinking the same thing to myself during the film. Liv probably deserved the nomination more than Ingrid, but the same way it is weird to see that Ingrid got a nomination and Liv didn't, it wouldn't look right the other way around either. It's a tour de force by both of them and it wouldn't work any other way.

Language! The thing that means stuff.

Total bull$hit.

This should have been one of the few movies out there with two Lead Actress nominations.
