Oh my God ...

... the acting in this film was AMAZING. Incredible performance by Bergman, but Liv Ullman was perhaps even greater. She was simply amazing; can't find another word for it. Her break-down scene had me in tears. In a way, she reminds me of Meryl Streep ...

Anyways, the rest of the film was good too. Not one of Ingmar's best, I'd say, but still excellent. But for me, it was the acting that really pulled this picture to another level.

Liv Ullman,
you're divine.

But it did happen

Both actresses are sensational. Meryl Streep is not Liv Ullman's league IMO.

Nobody mentions the great Lena Nyman...?

The only other Bergman movies I like more is The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, Persona.

I love getting all perspectives. For example, we see what Ingrid says to herself, what she says to her daughter, to her son-in-law when they think she can't hear, as well as how Ingrid for example talks to her friend on the train. It's nice to see the honesty, and to understand where the fault lies.
