In my top 5 of all time

I remember watching this as a 9 year old and just sitting in awe and amazement, it was non stop action and I'm watching it now as a 40 year old and it's just as good. My favourite scene is when Hooper takes Tony for a ride to negotiate his fee for the rocket car stunt, i love this film.

This is definitely one of my all time fuzzy wuzzy movies.

1) I was 16, my brother was 15 and this was one of the first movies we saw without our parents.

Side note. There are only two other movies we did this: Pee Wee's Big Adventure and And Now For Something Completely Different. In retrospect, I'm sure our parents wished there were more.

2) I like the chemistry between Burt and Sally Field (who had gorgeous long hair in those days).

3) It is an movie within a movie context. Too bad the movie within a movie didn't come out as a very real movie in its own right. This is always a disappointment.

4) No one gets sick, nobody dies, a bar room brawl doesn't constitute hard core violence.

...fuzzy wuzzy movies.
Would that translate as a good time movie with a plot that could be written out on a drink coaster? ...
Sally Field (who had gorgeous long hair in those days).
She really was a fine looking woman in this movie. It's a pity she didn't have a little more to do IMO.
