Best Closing Freeze-Frame Ever?

The best closing freeze-frame ever was the ending of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

I think the best closing freeze-frame is the the very first one: The 400 Blows

reply

Nope. Best closing ff was Walter Matthau in 'The Taking of Pelham 123'.

reply

That one is pretty good, and quite memorable. Matthau's smug mug looking at the bad guy.

reply

Yup. That (and David Shire's music) is one of the all time best endings, ff or not.

Lot of good films mentioned. Love both 'Hooper' and 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' last freeze frame but, I'm going to say that the last shot of 'Rocky' is the best freeze-frame ever.
