I really like the remake of this movie and I'm watching the original for the first time. I'm about half way through it and I can't help but wonder why a veteran cop who has probably seen it all would swerve off the road for a stupid rabbit. Maybe he was a animal loving vegan???

Guess he wanted to please his family of hippies. Still though, it looked like he could have missed the rabbit and stayed on the road.

Why speed up first because of a little fly by above the car.
