I missed the first half hour, I will probably sit infront of the tv for 20 years to see it again. It was on TCM. Great Fun Tonight.

Got the chance to see this brillant film in its entirely last night on TCM.
TCM presented the original version that way it was really shown in the theatres. This was a grand film that was missing in action for years and the last time I saw this film was during a private screening on a college campus during Black History Month. This was film that came out in 1977,and reunited two of the stars from the 1972 Oscar nominated film-"Sounder"-Cicely Tyson and Paul Winfield, not to mention here as well Kevin Hooks. But the real star of this film was the outbreak performance of Larry B. Scott,in his film debut is something to watch since he rules the screen with his gripping performance as Benjie. When this film came out,it was very close to an "R" rating, but it was rated "PG"-due to some intense scenes and explicit dialogue and raw language that made not be suitable for those under 13 years of age or at that time too intense for pre-teenagers,since this was a film geared toward teenagers. And to make it clear that this film also had a serious and powerful message about the dangers and pitfalls of Drug Abuse and the startling effect it made have.

I would love to see a remake of this film. After I saw it last night,a remake should be in order but updated for the times. Kimberly Elise would be perfect in the Cicely Tyson role(stunning image of her)and Terrance Howard in the Paul Winfield role. Don't you think? Feedback please.
