Small, bright spots in an otherwise bad movie.

The movie "Here Come the Tigers" seems to be universally disliked by viewers because it is unoriginal, poorly scripted, and poorly acted (for the most part). But even in the worst movies, it's possible to find something worth liking. And so it is with this movie. I want to give kudos to whoever cast Noel John Cunningham and Philip Scuderi for this movie. These two seem to be the only likeable characters in the movie. And Noel Cunningham was definitely the cutest kid in the movie. So I guess we take our bright spots wherever we can find them. But if you are looking for a "good" movie about an underdog kids baseball team, watch the 1976 movie "The Bad News Bears".

This movie was generally harmless. Probably not as good as Bad News Bears, but one of those nice little kid sports comedies that's nice nonetheless. I thought it was cute. Then again, I always liked those type of movies, even if they tend to rip each other off. I mean, I liked Mighty Ducks, Sandlot, and Little Giants too. These type of movies died with the 90s(I think they were made really popular with Bad News Bears, then went on to forge their way through the rest of the 70s, thought the 80s and into the mid-90s), and I kinda miss them.

PROBABLY not as good as the Bad News Bears?! You should be institutionalized.

I think the director ( his dad ) cast Noel in the film.

reply

Yes he did. That's nepotism for you.

I still like this movie, and it does have it's moments. It was probably an attempt to cash on the success of the original BNB and sequels. In all honestly, it's better than the third BNB film.

Thank you for your comment MichaelDavid94. I do agree that this movie is better than the third BNB film. That film should never have been made, in my opinion. Thanks.

Yeah, that movie really was awful!
