Anyone know a the name of a similar movie?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought this movie because I remembered it from my childhood. I liked the film but I have got it mistaken with something else of the same genre.

The film I'm looking for is similar, a man dies, comes back in the body of someone else but - (my memory is hazy at best) I remember that the ending was where the person confronted the people that were plotting against him. Exposed their plots in some way. I don't know if this was true or not but I seem to remember that the chap had changed his appearance and people questioned this in the film. Maybe slicked back hair.

If you have any clues, then I'd be very interested to hear them.

Down to Earth with Chris Rock is the same kind of story. If you ever need to find something like this, try clicking "movie connections" on the side of the main page and it will usually tell you what movies are related to this one.

I think it is an old movie called " Here Comes Mr. Jordan ".

Heaven Can Wait is a remake of Here Comes Mister Jordan but Robert Montgomery's Joe pendleton was a boxer while Warren Beatty's joe Pendleton is a NFL football player. Both versions are great but I prefer the original!

Seems like everyone's right... Harry Segall's screenplay for ''Here Comes Mr. Jordan'' was based on his play ''Heaven Can Wait'', Elaine May's screenplay ''Heaven Can Wait'' was based on Segall's screenplay ''Here Comes Mr. Jordan'', and Chris Rock et al's "Down to Earth" screenplay was based on May's screenplay ''Heaven Can Wait''. Oy.

Here Comes Mr. Jordan was better than ANY of the other movies, by far.

Of course, that's just my opinion. ;)

about 6 years ago I watched a film labelled 'On Thin Ice' on sky moviemax (UK) about a ice hockey player who dies but shouldn't have (like in heaven can wait) and comes back as a female figure skater. I don't know any of the actors but 'On thin ice' doesn't show on IMDb. any ideas?

anyone know the name of the movie where the guy drives off a cliff in a game of chicken, dies, then comes back as a ghost to mentor his son? It's probably about 25 years old...

It's called the Heavenly Kid....

Great flcik that I used to watch as a kid.

here's a somewhat similiar movie - see if anyone recognizes it

someone dies and comes back. God is played by a woman that dresses and looks pretty much like a man.

i remember it seemed they must have used conveyer belts on the film because there are parts where the actors seem to slide across the screen.

i would guess mid 80's.

I believe the movie you are thinking about boobear1_37, is 'Made in Heaven' with Timothy Hutton. It's one of my all time favorite movies.

No, its sadly not out on dvd. I resorted to buying it on VHS just to have it. You might try to find it like that if you want... amazon had it a while back.

chris20592, I saw that movie too.
I remember the main actress was one of the daughters fron the sitcom "The Nanny"

yeah it was definitely "here comes mr. jordan". it involved a boxer instead
of a football player but the same plot throughout.this movie has nothing to
do with the original "heaven can wait" starring gene tierney.
