I'm glad to see someone beat me to the punch with this post.

Sometimes these movie things can play themselves out rather eeirly in real life --- especially since Jack Warden is in the film...

As some may recall, the aptly named (in this context) Jack Warden appeared in only the second episode of TWILIGHT ZONE ever shot called "The Lonely", which aired in fall 1959. In it, he's 3 1/2 years into a 50 year prison sentence on an abandoned asteroid... That means his sentence has 46 1/2 years to go...

And Warden indeed died 46 1/2 years later, midway thru 2006.
