Question

I'm trying to find a good horror movie to introduce my 5 year old to. Does anyone die in this movie? I rather him not see death on screen just yet

reply

It is a surprisingly common misconception that people die in this film. Most of their time is spent carving pumpkins, trick or treating, and apple bobbing. Fun facts: In the UK the director's cut is actually rated 'U', and the original title was Babysitter Sleepover.

reply

Thanks. My son will enjoy a movie like this

reply

Might want to avoid the director's cut of Halloween II though. It includes a pretty graphic water fight.

reply

Someone recommended to me I should show him the Rob Zombie Halloween movie as its not as graphic for a 5 y/o

reply

Try The Exorcist. If I recall correctly there's one priest death off screen and another one in the end, but not very spectacular.

reply

I'll give it a shot

reply

Your 5 year old will thank you for your excellent choice when he/she grows up.

reply

Yes, I have every intention of being Father of the Year every year

reply

I'm sorry, but if you worry that your six year old can't handle death, then don't start showing them horror movies yet. It's kind of part and parcel for horror.

Horror movies without death is like a romantic comedy without flirting.

reply

Thanks for your helpful advice

I'm not sure if you're sarcastically replying to the troll, or if you're just feeding the troll lol

reply

Both

reply

Fair enough.

This is obviously a joke post, but, if you do have a 5 year old and want to introduce him to horror movies, try Salem's Lot (1979). 😁😁😁😁

reply

My college professor recommended Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein

reply

Salem's Lot gave me trouble sleeping for weeks when it was first shown.

reply

You, and nearly 100% of everybody else that watched it then as well.

And it also cemented all of our future love of horror movies.

reply

I wasn't a kid, either. I was in my late teens and loved horror movies. But that movie was something else.

reply

I love it so much. I administer a SL group and I've managed to rope in all 3 of the boys from the movie. 😃😃😃😃

reply

Wow, seriously? 👍

reply

Indeed I did!! 👍👍👍👍

reply

Well you said a "Good Horror Movie" and with this being an Over Pretentious Hipster Movie for Ramen eating Man Children. I would start your little scamp off with "The Video Dead" or "Zombie '90 Extreme Pestilence" so that he grows up an individual rather than an establishment backing puke of a liberal.

reply

Try Gremlins, Ernest Scared Stupid, or the Addams Family Movies.

reply

THIS ONE WAS PRETTY FUNNY...WELL DONE,FRIEND-O.
