What is the situation with the Halloween movies?

The original here is considered a classic, and I hear that the first sequel is canon, unlike a whole swathe of movies that were removed from canon with the recent movie of the same name. I don't think I've ever seen any Halloween movie except 1, 3 (which I personally love) and H2O.

So what is the first sequel like, and is it worth bothering with?

reply

Bad.
And no.

Directed by Carpenter’s AD Tommy Lee Wallace.
And not well.

Tommy Lee Wallace directed H3. Rick Rosenthal directed H2, with several scenes directed by Carpenter since Rosrnthal's original cut was only about 70 minutes and deemed too short.

I love "Halloween 2!" I've loved it since I first saw it in the theater in 1981. It's a fun movie. Not perfect, but fun. If you're a fan of 1980's slasher flicks you should check it out

I'm not a huge fan of these films. I saw 1&2 together which was a big mistake!

The second one is set the same night as the first one, but in a hospital. It was like watching the same film for almost 4 hours.

My friends and I have been watching 1 and 2 every Halloween for years. I always watch them back to back

Yeah it's worth it, it's very entertaining.
