I wasn't scared at all!

The only scare I got was a small jump scare when the dude is downstairs and he emerges.

Other than that, I didn't find a guy in a mask staring scary.

If I was 8 I'd find this movie scary but as an adult, nope, sorry.

reply

Congratulations.

This lack of fear means I can walk around in the dark by myself in a theme park I patrol. Most would be scared to be in a theme park at night all by themselves. Would you?

reply

Why are you walking around a theme park by yourself? I hope you work there.

reply

He said he patrolled it at night meaning he's a security guard or a cop.

reply

Good response.

reply

No adult today can experience the film the way people did in the 70s.

reply

THIS.

It's easy to be jaded 40 years after this movie with hundreds of imitators diluting the genre.

reply

Too true. Everybody has to top the last one.

reply

Also, what people find scary is entirely personal. Not everyone finds slashers scary, not everyone finds maranormal shit scary. It's very subjective, and there is nothing that is universally scary (or funny for that matter).

reply

The movie was very suspenseful. Great at building up the climax.

reply

I agree. I loved it both as a kid, and later as an adult. The atmosphere is great.

reply

Right? 'Scary' is relative. I don't know if the film ever scared me, but it's definitely unsettling. The scene where he's behind the hedge in the distance is just...creepy.

reply

Often it's the vibe of a movie that unsettles me more than what's shown.

reply

OK, tough guy.

reply

An adult bragging that a horror film didnt scare him. lol wtf

Frankenstein amd Nosferatu didnt scare me either. They scared the shit out of people at the time and just because they dont scare now It doesnt hold them back as being recognized as great films in the genre.

Good film making spans many years.

40 years on and Halloween is still considered good film making.

reply

I must politely disagree
I think its scary and perfect
One of the greatest horror movies ever and Michael might just be the greatest slasher ever...

reply

How can you not be scared out of your freaking mind of William Shatner???

reply

Maybe if I had a daughter one day and watched this thinking of her I’d be terrified.

reply

Your lack of empathy is frightening. Just imagine what poor Jamie Lee Curtis went through during filming!

reply

Funny, I first watched this when I was about 8 and didn't even find it scary then lol.
It's a good film but I have no idea how anyone today could find it scary.

reply

OMG you are so TOUGH

Bad ASS Walking everybody!

Man I wish I was Tough enough(or insecure enough) to brag that I wasnt scared when I watched Halloween as I kid!

reply

Not as I hard as you......I mean look at you Throwing out "Hey Kid"...every chance you get....

Its clear, You have no comebacks for any of my facts, so Your instead trying t sound tough....

PS

But seriously, 8 years old.......watched Halloween......wasnt scared......damn

reply

Oh yes, by simply using the word "Kid" that definitely proves that I am.......Trying.
Do you even think about your words before you say them? lol
You really are one dumb, little cunt aren't ya?

"Its clear, You have no comebacks for any of my facts"

LMAO How can I have comebacks for something I haven't even read?
I don't even know what "facts" you are talking about because you've been having a conversation with yourself, you fucking retard LOOOOL.

reply

LMAO How can I have comebacks for something I haven't even read?

^^^^

for someone who doesnt "read" my posts....you sure do spend an insane amount of time responding to every single post I make!

I get it, You cant think of any good comebacks to what I say.....

But pulling the Old "Ummm didnt read it haha" excuse , Only works if YOU stop responding to the person after you said!.....thus proving you truly didnt read anything they wrote and dont care enough to even read their response

the fact that you continue to respond religiously to my posts 1000% proves you are in fact reading them, They bother you and you HAVE to respond....

If you truly thought I was "A Kid" and My posts were not worthy of reading You would block me and done with me....

I mean who the hell responds to 10 + posts of a day to someone they claim is a "Kid" and you dont even read my posts?

either Block me and really prove you dont care about me and dont want to read my posts....Or for the love of god think of some better comebacks than "Hey I'm taking the time to respond to you to let you know your not worth responding to"

reply

People are more jaded now. Regardless of whether Halloween scares you, it can be appreciated as a great work of art.

reply

There's some really effective moments when you see Michael from afar just standing there or carrying a dead body inside the house across the street that I still find creepy as hell. The great slasher film before slasher was even a thing.

reply

It is now impossible for someone to see this for the first time in 2018 and have the same reaction as someone from 1978.

reply

agreed
