Probably shouldn't have gotten wasted and started walking around town in a mask. He might've still ended up getting hit by a car anyway, regardless of the police accidentally slamming into him.

Also, very bad luck that he just happened to be wearing the unusual combination of a white mask and mechanics overalls for his costume, just like MM.
Probably "El Jerko" Paul deserved it more...

shareRegarding him surviving (since the second film doesn’t exist), I thought it would’ve been cool to have him and Laurie married in the new Halloween. I was so disappointed in how unlikable they made Laurie. Having her married and well-adjusted, but a little jumpy, would’ve been better than what we ended up with. Just my humble opinion.
shareNo I think he was just confused as to why they were being so worked up over seeing him. And at first I don’t think he even knew they were talking to him.
