Should "Grease" be remade with actual teenagers playing the roles?

I mean if the kids were really talented.

reply

Nope.

Go watch the High School Musical series.

I don't know about talent, but they are young.

HELL NO

It should not be remade. The original shouldn't even have been made!

reply

No.

The problem with that is that using teenagers always makes producers want to make things more "hip." I would not mind a remake that is closer to the broadway, but certainly not something that tries to modernize it.

reply

Yes, I'd like to see that.

I know they did a live TV version a couple of years ago, how old were the performers? Mid-twenties? Early twenties?

reply

Not sure of the age of the cast, but nobody in the TV live broadcast was in their 50s like Rizzo..

The good is that it was the Broadway version. Because it was, the strongest song in the whole show - Magic Changes, was restored to one of the T-Birds. The bad is that it's almost impossible to recreate the original magic of any movie.

Stockard Channing was 34, and Olivia Newton-John was... 30.

I think the poster was cracking wise. At least I found it funny.

Stockard Channing may have been 34, but she looked like she was pushing 40. She would have been better cast as Mrs. Murdock or one of the waitresses.

Olivia Newton John looked early 20s in this in my opinion.
