Who looks the oldest? Who looks the youngest?

Out of the 'high school students' ?
Oldest, I say Cha Cha - she looked about 40 and Sonny looked like a senior staff member at Rydell instead of a student. Youngest, I think Pudsey could pass as a high school student

The show "American Dad" summed it up best:

Stan: "He's been on this planet for 60 years. He knew Stockard Channing when she was in her late forties”

Roger: “No, I knew Stockard Channing in the late 40's. She was 50.”

The girl who played Marnie was only 19 though and the guy who played Pudsey was only 20.

The guy who played Eugene looked the youngest.

Stockard Channing was 33 when she appeared in this movie. That's Thirty Three (33). I defy anyone to find an older example of anyone playing a teenager.

There are many examples. Just watch the beach movies of the 1960s or any of the later Dead End Kids movies. I'm too lazy to look up specific examples, but just check out those movies and you'll see plenty of them.

Rizzo was the oldest and Marty (?) the youngest.

Looks wise-
I'd say for girls Frenchy looked the oldest and Marty the youngest. Guys I'd go for the leader of the Scorpions and youngest Tom the Jock (a young Lorenzo Lamas).

Cha Cha playing a teenager was laughable!

I heard the only ones who were actual teenagers were: Marty, Putsey and the guy who played Tom the Jock.

Cha Cha all the way. She looked like she should have been dropping her kids off at the dance.

Shame Cha Cha and Kenicky passed away in real life.

And Crater Face (Sorry I don't know his character's name)

Going with Stockyard. She was thirty three when this film was made but as Al Bundy might say: "the last time you were 33 was 1933!!!".

Just a horrible horrible miscast considering her age, her acting, and her singing. Terrible choice.

It's so hard being an internet comedian these days..

I didn't have any problem with her looks or appearance for a 33 year old, I just think she couldn't remotely pull off being 17. Probably the only mis-cast in this movie.

But that’s one of the staples of Grease: whenever you see a non-high school stage version, including the original cast when the musical was written, older actors play teens. It’s a Grease characteristic. You don’t question it. You don’t think of it in those terms. Rydell is a fantasy, not realistic.

Yeah, I get that, but Stockyard Channing not only wasn't convincing as a teenager, she wasn't convincing as a 33 year old either. Again, the only real miscast in this film.

I was never convinced that the Fonz in Happy Days could have been so tough and pulled all those chicks but I still enjoyed it. As for Stockard Channing, I agree she looked to old never mind being far to old to be a teenager. Still enjoyed the movie though.

I thought her acting was fine. She didn't look the part, though.

There was an extra in the basketball try out scene who looked like he was in his 40's at least yet supposed to be a student.

Not sure on her name character or real, but she is the blonde who is running for school president or whatever but we don't see much of her. I guess I just thought she was the best looking but she looked kind of high school age.

Patti Simcox (played by Susan Buckner) was 25 when the film was made.
