What did Kenicky say..

when he's shouting at Rizzi when she's on the Ferris wheel. All I could make out was "Rizzo, get off that thing......" Then I couldn't tell what he said

reply

he said "you've got a condition" meaning she was pregnant and he was worried about her safety and the baby's.

This is a faithful saying...Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

reply

I think it was something like this:

Kenickie: RIZZO! HEY, RIZZO!

GET OFF THAT THING!
YOU GOT A CONDITION!

Rizzo:
IT WAS A FALSE ALARM.
I'M NOT PREGNANT!

Kenickie:
WHOO! WHOO!
I'LL MAKE AN HONEST WOMAN OF YOU.

Rizzo:IF THIS IS A LINE,I AIN'T BITING.

Kenickie: THAT'S A BONA FIDE OFFER.

Rizzo: WELL, IT AIN'T MOONLIGHT AND ROSES,
BUT...

In the ending production, We Go Together, one of the dancers appears to be a parody of Groucho Marx. He carries a cigar & wobbles on the lawn. Am I correct or is it my imagination? Groucho's quiz show was a big hit in the 50's, You Bet Your Life.

reply

You're not the only one who noticed that.

reply

that groucho guy is kinda my favorite part of the carnival scene.

reply

He was doing the Charlie Chaplin Tramp walk.

The Groucho walk is something different all together.

reply

I didn't think he was being Groucho. You might be right and he was, *but*, it was a thing in the 1950s for people to make faces, like sticking one's finger in one's mouth and saying "Madam, please remove your umbrella," or pulling one's hair back tightly and saying "Mommy, you made my braids too tight!" I thought that's what he was doing.

reply

The cigar is all Groucho, but the walk is all Chaplin.

reply

I think it was
"Rizzo, get off that thing, you're in no condition!"

reply

That guy was also scene at the dancer show scene making funny faces behind I believe Principal McGee (Eve Arden) and Coach Calhoun (Sid Ceaser) he was trying hard as hell to get noticed. He was even dancing extra hard at the "We Go Together" scene. Lmao!!
