Why did Vince Fontaine say 'does everyone know Marty?'

Why was Vince pushing Marty infront of the camera and being overly creepy infront of everyone? He was obviously a douche and wanted to get with her but what does he mean by 'does everyone know Marty?'

It was just a quirky way of making her feel like a celebrity. He was hoping it work help make her more open to his advances.

Considering her big rack and Marilyn Monroe way of speaking, I think he was asking if everyone knew Marty in the biblical sense...
