Range and bearings of the target ship

I'm not too sure after listening to that information the watch relayed to the Captain that they were really in a tough spot. Did anyone else make anything out of that? The bearings didnt seem to fit the overall collision picture.

I'm not up on my navigating skills to know whether the bearings were accurate, but I would agree that the collision happened far too quickly given that the sub made radar contact with the freighter at a range of 3000 yards.
