A recent news story made me think of this great documentary. It has been announced that the beluga whale "Gasper" at the Atlanta Aquarium has died. The aquarium has set up a memory book at the whale tank for visitors to sign. The press release stated "Gasper's remains will be cremated and spread at an undisclosed animal cemetery." All I could think about was the creepy rendering plant owner in the film saying, "Every once in a while they'll lose a giraffe at the zoo, or they'll lose Big Bertha or Joe the Bear".

You thought the rendering plant owner was creepy? I thought almost everyone else was creepier than him. Well, everyone except the somewhat simple gentleman from North Dakota who has the lead in the first segment of the film, and the little old lady who went on and on about her grandson ignoring her. I'd like to count those two among my friends. Very thought-provoking, lots of unforgettable characters for sure.
