Dan Haberts' music

I am wondering what the first song Dan is playing is. It's when he's playing his acoustic guitar by itself (no interviews on top). He played a tune that I know I've heard before (and probably own somewhere in the more unexplored depths of my record collection), but I can't quite place it. Can anybody help?

I'm not sure I understand which song you mean exactly. ACOUSTIC guitar?? You mean when the older brother is lounging in the hammock or something? I couldn't really hear his song very well then.

The song the younger brother plays on ELECTRIC - blasting across the cemetery and into the valley - sounded familiar to me, too. I eventually figured it out: a hard rockin' and instrumental rendition of "Honky Tonk Woman" by the Rolling Stones. Is that the song you mean??

I know what you're talking about
when he's in the hammock
It's definitely the younger brother, not the older brother

it reminded me of Leo Kottke, so that might be it, but I really have no idea

It's "Comin' Back To Me" from Jefferson Airplane: Surrealistic Pillow.

He's such a hippy. Look at the pot plants on the side of the window when we see him listening to his music on the reel to reel player.
Hehehe

I also noticed the pot plants and wondered if he ever got into trouble about them after the movie was released. I also wonder what they're like now (the brothers). 30+ years have gone by and I'm sure the parents must have passed away. The cemetery is still there so they have so far kept their promise.

Interesting - Leo Kottke was mentioned and J.A. mentioned (which would have definitely been Jorma Kaukonen playing). They were roommates in college. Oddly though - I thought the music was a John Fahey melody, and both Kottke and Kaukonen had been prodigies to Fahey. Anyway, it was interesting seeing this person set back in time - looks like he was going for the "David Crosby" psyche. I wonder if the guy took the music forward.
