Good idea, but major rewrite needed

If the movie 'Carrie' would have been a flop, this movie would have never seen the light of day.

Gillian and the Kirk Douglas character should have meet up earlier in the movie formed a bond, her powers slowly realized through action scenes. That should have been about 70% of the movie . The other 30% should have been the government baddies and the son, how he became slowly corrupted and out of control. The tension should have risen for the audience about the final showdown. The ending must have been rewritten to the effect that half of the audience would have wanted the son saved and the other half hoped him dead.

The testing facility scenes should have never been filmed.

I enjoy DePalma films, (my fav is Body Double) and in all fairness to him, the pacing of movies in the 70's was far far slower than that of today.

I thought it worked fine the way it was.

The movie lost me in the second act when Kirk disappears. I think the search for his son are the most interesting parts
