Did anyone notice this? *spoilers possible*

In the scene where Gillian has another vision of Robin and Dr. Ellen is sitting with her, if you watch very carefully, when Ellen is bleeding, look at the face reflected from the glass table. De Palma shows the face of Robin (Andrew Stevens) in the reflection. Robin's face is contorted as if he's in pain. De Palma does this two times. In the final shot in this scene, when you look at the reflection one last time, its Ellen right before she collapses.

I watched this film again recently and just noticed this. At first, you assume its Ellen b/c she's sitting next to Gillian as she's seeing Robin in a vision. Plus, I thought it was Ellen due to the length and color of hair of both characters. However, when I noticed something was weird, I watched the scene in slow motion. When you do this, you can see what I'm talking about.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, watch the film and when you come to the scene, slow down your player and you'll see what I'm talking about. Once you've done so, answer this question for me...why do you think De Palma did this? The only answer I can provide maybe this was De Palma's way of showing us how tortured Robin really was. I also wonder if Robin realized then there was a kindred soul out there and that was his way of "reaching out" to Gillian via his powers?

Any thoughts...

DePalma likes this kind of subliminal effect. Witness also how "Bobbie" appears in Dressed To Kill before anyone would actually have any reason to know she was a character, and thus take any notice of her.

Argento beat him to it in Deep Red though!!

No, I didn't notice that, but what I did notice is how contrived this scene is. After the Doctor tells Gillian that she gave her a sedative and a suggestion the night before to forget what upset her, the doctor then goes forward to show her pictures of Robin only to upset her again.

Does the woman bleed from a disease or does the woman next to her actually squeeze her hand so hard that her fingertips burst, and blood pours/gushes out of them?

Same thing happens when Irving touches Durning's hand she is drawing the blood with her telekinsis, not overloading the brain ala "scanners".
