Especially the dam and the bridge.

Ok I found it, the bridge is the Tara River Bridge.

I believe the movie was filmed mostly in Yugoslavia (the end credits mention it.)

the dam and bridge also, but poorly made models were then destroyed.

Some scenes were filmed in Jersey ( Channel Islands) though I don't know which ones.

The opening training sequenses were filmed at St Georges School in St Peter, Jersey Channel Island.

I worked on the film as a stuntman. We filmed in Montenegro which was then part of Yugoslavia and were based in a town called Jablak in the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in nearly 40 years in the film business. Jim Dowdall

I filmed for a week at Shepperton studios as a German extra. (Still good fun)

Jim, I'm curious as to what time of year the filming took place, as in some scenes it looks very wintry, in others it seems quite spring like, and then in other sections it looks rather autumnal. Thanks, Kev.

I could swear I passed by that dam in Bosnia, somewhere between Sarajevo and Mostar. I would have to look at a map of the routes there to see where it was.
