Completely ridiculous

Nothing rang true in this laughable film. Total amateur hour. How can a sensible person think that everyone around him not only shares his taste in music but wants to listen to it at any given time. I hated Keitel in that restaurant scene where he gets in a fight with a diner who just wants to enjoy his meal without music. When the audience hates the main character it's time to rethink the script, Mr Toback!

There is no "off" position on the genius switch.

The movie is very 70's. Strangely but I got same vibes as from "The Conversation"

Keitel's character is born of a psychotic mother and a loan shark father who trained him to be a ruthless debt collector. He's basically a gangster. Add to that his longing for a better life as a professional pianist, and that's not going well. Of course he's going to be violence-prone. Way to understand the movies you watch.

FINGERS is generally regarded as a work of high art. It's obvious that you're not suited to watching cinema that invites thought.
