What happened to the wife?
What happened to Stallone's wife in the end? She disappears and there is no further comment.
shareMy guess is that she was probably killed by the same people who killed Johnny at the end and probably their children as well. At the very end of the movie, after Johnny is murdered, there is a truck with a sticker that says "Where's Johnny?". Apparently, Johnny suffered a similar fate as Jimmy Hoffa (who the movie is loosely based on) and no one knew what happened to him other than his being dead. I doubt that the mob would want many people around wondering where he is and demanding that he be found. It's easier that way so I think it's likely that Johnny's entire family was murdered before he met the same fate.
shareI doubt they were touched. They weren't involved in any way, and killing them would have infuriated the nation and intensified the search for the killers.
sharePerhaps, but, his wife and the kids were not there. If I remember correctly, their bed was set up to look like she was in it. There was also no sign of forced entry when Johnny got home. That could support them not doing anything to her. But, if she's approached by them, there's then a witness that they would have to worry about so they may have silenced her as well.
shareIt's interesting that you mention the bumper sticker "Where's Johnny?". This was never seen on the video release here in Australia BUT.....it was seen in an extended version of the film that was shown on TV in the mid 80's. I vividly recall this and other scenes in the TV version that were never in the video. I am hoping they are on the DVD though.
