Meg Mundy (Doris Spencer) was a fashion model, herself...

I'm rewatching this for the first time in years, and it struck me that the small role of Doris Spencer (one of Laura Mars key associates, seen early in the film) is played by an actress who was a former fashion model...Meg Mundy.

I think this is kind of cool, because it's appropriate casting. Just as many industry people in Hollywood began as performers, many longtime workers in the fashion world first came to it as models. (For instance, Anna Wintour's main assistant, Grace Covington, seen in the documentary The September Issue) was a Vogue covergirl in her youth.

Here are pics of the young Meg Mundy:

At the same time as Eyes of Laura Mar, Ms. Mundy was in a daytime soap, The Doctors, in which she had several scenes with Kathleen Turner (who I believe played her daughter-in-law, Nona). Two years later, Mundy played Mary Tyler Moore's mother in Ordinary People, a very small role, but Mundy played it perfectly.
