Deleted scenes???

I have watched THE END many times on tv and the dvd movie and they were the same except glenn campbell sings the tv version, anyways I also bought the novel of the film by carol struthers and in the book after chasing after the hearse he is stopped by a cop. And later in the novel he is seen talking to Waldo Kling the head of La Playa who had a very small role in the film. Were these scences ever filmed or no??? Also if you watch this you tube video "NBC promo The End 1980" you will see a cop stop sonny and sonny sticks his tounge out at him lol Also watch the trailer for THE END on You Tube you will see Waldo Klings character sitting behind a desk smiling. Im starting to wonder if these scenes were filmed, But I never saw them.
