Which actor should be cast as Dr. Strange in the new movie?

Johnny Depp on 'The 9th Gate' form might be one suggestion. Everyone from Charlie Sheen to George Clooney has been suggested. I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest Scottish actor Gray O'Brien.

Jared Leto.

Theo James - British, 29, 6'.0" tall, great accent, can be serious, has a face structure I can see ad Dr. Strange. OR Jan Courtney, Aussie, 6'.1" tall, masculine, can be serious. It needs to be a tall, guy with accent, can act serious (not comical--no Vince Vaughn, Franco brother types). Sorry, Jared Letto looks too soft. You can't be Dr. Strange after you did drag.

Robert Downey, Jr. would be the perfect Dr. Strange, especially for the pre-superhero Stephen Strange. Unfortunately, he is already Iron Man.

How about Benedict Cumberbatch! You know, that guy who looks like Sid from ICE AGE! ;)

Pffft, my suspension of disbelief has higher standards than that.

^ See, that's not so funny when you see that you've written it after the movie came out.

To see a truly legendary thread about casting you need to look up the one on the HOBBIT I board (I think); someone suggested Martin Freeman play Bilbo about a zillion years before the movie was even announced.

the funny isn't that it ended up actually being Cumberbatch, the joke was
that he looks like the sloth in Ice Age. He himself mentioned this on some show
while promoting STRANGE, and I found that funny as hell.
