Makes a little more sense if you see 'Star Wars' first

Since Deathsport blatantly stole ideas from Star Wars (not the last Roger Corman movie to do so) it helps if you just transpose your memories of the earlier film to help fill in the plot holes.

The mystic Range Guides who use "the consciousness" are clearly meant to be Jedi. Since the movie never deems it important enough to explain by what authority the guides operate, I'm assuming they function like mercenaries. Either that or they provide these services for free. Heck, I'm gonna say for free, makes sense in this setting.

Kaz is definitely a mix of Obi Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker. Deneer is kind of Princess Leia, but not really. Zirpola's the Emporer, Ankar Moon is Darth Vader and... well, I guess the Death Machines are the Death Star. *shrug*
