The movie sound track

I found the soundtrack of this movie on itunes and put it on my ipod. It sounds pretty good. I also put The Final Conflict on there too. I already had the CD of The Omen to put on there. On the soundtrack for this movie there is basically two versions of most of the scores. The film version and then I guess another version which is basically the same except slightly longer and more detailed. You can really hear the details for example with the music when Damien is walking out of the museum at the end. Very Creepy.

I agree about the score at the end, it creeped me out too and that's rare for me

Yeah it is almost like a guteral sound. I would say the only score that kind of sucks in Omen II is the main opening score and closing credits score. Not creepy like Ave Satani sang in The Omen.

On the deluxe edition cd. The first set of tracks is the original album and then the film score follows the rest of the cd. The main and end titles on both sets sound different, muffled like...not as clear as in the film. I am mostly talking about the boing boing sound and so forth. I wonder why?

Edit: Never mind, misunderstood what you wrote.

I had the original soundtrack on vinyl and can verify the "boing boing" was very different in that performance. (They also skipped all of the synthesizer stuff as well, if I remember correctly.) The "real" one on the CD version sounds right to me, though. Maybe it just seems mixed lower because it's the stereo recording? The movie was mono and that can make music sound a little different.

The other version was the original soundtrack album; they didn't use the recordings from the movie for that one, but just performed most of the score over again with a new orchestra. (Why I'm not sure, there must have been some sort of licensing issue with the recording used in the movie I guess.)

I love the soundtrack. My favorite piece of music is the one that plays when Damien cuts his hair and discovers the 666 birthmark.

Not to sound like a stick in the mud, but I thought the score was overwrought... too loud, too excited, lacking in subtly. Goldsmith's music for the original Omen was much better, I thought. More dynamic.
