So in corvette summer they must have cut out the part where the fortune teller tells mark hammil that his corvette is in the basement of the alamo

No! They changed it to a fortune teller in the remake (PeeWee) from a traveling salesman (Corvette Summer). Only after pretty much all hope is lost.

Wow, that never occured to me. I always thought "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" was inspired by "The Bicycle Thief", but in retrospect it's a lot more similar to "Corvette Summer."
