I just saw it at my video store... What a quiet roll out, lol. I didn't know about it till now.

Does it have optional English subtitles or closed captioning. One of the issues people had when the film first came out was that some of the dialog is inaudible/incomprehensible (thick accents, slurred, etc.) Since the DVD case didn't say so, I'm assuming not.

Why is it that the films you most want released with closed captioning, are the few that don't seem to have them!

Just got a copy and looked at it. No subtitles or closed captions. That should really be against the law, shouldn't it? Forget about those of us who can't understand think Australian accents and slurred words. What about the deaf and hard of hearing?

Although the DVD could have used some subtitles, it's still got some nice special features, like interviews with Schepisi and Tommy Lewis, as well as a commentary track. And of course, the movie is majestic.
