No nomination for the music??!!

This is like one of the most standard themes ever... and with Rampal on flute....it's sick. Bolling's music wasn't even NOMINATED. That is a crime.

I am a musician, well-written music is a joy, and it is remembered. I would understand it if Superman's score would have won. That theme is iconic. Or, even Heaven Can Wait (although I tend to remember Beatty/Wayne Shorter playing Ciribiribin more than anything).

Morricone's music is fine as a rule - BUT I can honestly say that I don't remember the music he won the Oscar for (Midnight Express) this year, not for the life of me. That's not very Oscar-worthy.

piano player here and one of my fav pieces to play is the Claude Boling suite for flute and jazz piano. as i was watching this movie tonight and not very closely, i heard the music over the closing credits and i immediately recognized the flute composition style of Boling. i have to agree with you, yabba, it is a crime that Bolling wasn't nominated!!!
