reply

YEAH,that's my boy now your talking yes i love to see a remake of Buck Rodgers

reply

Actually, they are in talks to do this because of the success of Battlestar Galactica. Keep your fingers crossed.

reply

No.

reply

Yes I'm in.
Lets hope they do a good job not like the Thunderbirds

reply

I definetly agree with you that would be really cool. Everthing else has been remade.

I'd like to see a remake if they go back to the original comic strip for the inspiration and not this campy series. Unfortunately Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow kind of stole the look that I'd like to see for a new Buck Rogers movie, sort of an art deco vision of the future.

I couldn't agree more. I recently picked up the DVD of the series because I used to be a fan of the show as a kid. 28 years later the show doesn't stand up so well effects-wise. But the concept was and is still very intriguing. The added bonus was the shows interesting costumes and sexy female characters. I think they could follow in the same tracks, yet update the effects with some cool CGI, better stunts, and a new cast. It would be a huge hit.

I thought about this last night, if you really think about it the Sci Fi Channels show "Farscape" was pretty much a similar concept to "Buck Rogers". That would be a good model to pattern the show after. I mean, on Buck Rogers, all the aliens were pretty much humanoid.

The Twiki were created by man.

They evolved.

They rebelled.

There are many copies.

And they have a plan.

Will Deering: How far along are you on the Twiki detector? We have to track down all the frackin' Twiki in our fleet before they destroy New New Phoenix.

Dr. Theopolis: I'm making progress, but I can't get anything done with you constantly interrupting my research.

Will Deering: Enough of the frackin' research-- I want results!

[Ardala appears from nowhere]

Ardala: Theopolis... why so nervous? Do you think that you might be a Twiki like me?

[Ardala disappears]

Dr. Theopolis: I know that I am _not_ a Twiki.

Will Deering: Well you let me know once you get something working! Bidibidibidi.

reply

Yep! REMAKE PLEASE!

reply

Disney has owned the movie rights for Buck Rogers for many years now, but do not have a remake scheduled.

reply

Buck Rogers has been around since the 30's I believe. That would mean it shouldn't be long before it enters the public domain. Anyone know the copyright date for sure?

reply

As long as the new series/movie/whatever has really hot women nearly naked.

reply

Well your going to get two Bucks. The first is a online web series, based more on the original comic strips and with Gil Gerard and Erin Gray as Buck's parents that's supposed to be online later this year (a site buckrogersbegins.com is up and has some pics and a trailer and a clip from the first episode) and the second is a big screen film, in 3D directed by Paul Anderson of Alien Vs Predator and Resident Evil fame. No word when it will show up except for the 2011 release date (probably left over from Frank Miller's thankfully dead attempt.)

"They're "fab," and all the other pimply hyperboles"

Gil Gerard and Erin Grey as Buck's parents?!?!?! That is a great idea, How about Buck and the rest of the cast? I'm thinking maybe Ryan Reynolds as Buck and Rosario Dawson as Col.Wilma Deering I don't know about Princess Ardala maybe Megan Fox or Angelina Jolie
