I Remember When This Played At The Theatres............

for an extremely short time. I had planned to go see it when I was a kid, but the film surprisingly hit TV really fast and the TV series followed. The exact same thing happened with Battlestar Galactica.

Not quite, unless you are talking about outside the US. Battlestar Galactica premiered in ABC, with the broadcast of the pilot movie, then continued from there. The pilot was then edited and distributed to theaters. It was, however, shown as a theatrical feature in some countries, before the tv series.

Buck was the opposite. It was intended for tv broadcast, then they decided to distribute the pilot to theaters, before showing it on tv, which is why there are differences between the theatrical version and the tv broadcast of the same.

I did get to see this in theaters and enjoyed the heck out of it. When it premiered on tv, with the different edit, I was a bit disappointed, as I thought the feature version worked better.

Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!
