All sorts of problems but it just keeps getting better

Here's another one where the sum of the parts don't add up but the damn thing just gets better with each viewing. Cassavettes' dogged pursuit, Vaughn is just delicious and von Sydow as The Jackal. A WWII movie that breaks through the time barrier with a Bond post-modern ending.
