When Will It Be Put Out On Dvd?

Anybody?

reply

It is now available on DVD, but only in the 1:33.1 format which is ridiculous considering that it was filmed in "Panavision" (as noted in the end credits). With modern widescreen TV'S there is no reason for a film, ANY FILM, to not be released in it's proper widescreen format if it was filmed that way. I will wait for it to be released in it's proper widescreeen format.

It's funny to me that you yearn for a widescreen DVD. I just watched 20 or so minutes of it before giving up because of the lackadaisical, hardly acted, content. But what struck me about the film technically is, even aside from the 1:33.1 format on the DVD, it has the crummy look of a 70s TV movie in every way: clarity, contrast, color, wooden camera set-ups,and so forth. I assume it would look even worse in wide screen.

This film is now available on Region 1 DVD from the Timeless Media Group. Extras on said DVD include the theatrical trailer, The Big Sleep: On Location featurette, and a commentary by director Michael Winner.
