I saw it in the theater back in '79 when it came out. I thought it was amazing and set out to find all the information I could on the subject. Heck, I was a naive, gullible teenager and was totally sucked in by this. I recorded it years later on TBS "Unexplained Phenomenon Week" and still found it very fun. I don't believe it, and yes it plays loose with facts as another reviewer points out but it's still fun. What is most fun is to think that back in 1979 it showed to audiences in theaters and probably 50% or more found it credible! I just see Brad Crandall and I know I'm in for a good time but not an educational experience!

I adore this film. It's easily the best movie ever made about the Bermuda Triangle. I saw it in theaters after being bombarded with TV ads and noticed they lifted the "Atlantis Crystal" footage from the 1961 George Pal film, ATLANTIS THE LOST CONTINENT. The host is so deadly serious that he manages to convince little kids that all this stuff is true. In 1979 when it was released, we had no internet to look up the facts and debunk the crazy stuff rammed down our throats. I watched it again and loved the music by John Cameron. The movie is so over the top in it's zeal to convince you, that it's a wonder they didn't blame the disappearance of the dinosaurs on the bad old Bermuda Triangle, which according to this film is growing and could someday eat the entire world. As science, this movie is worthless but as fiction, it's an amazing, fascinating, over the top masterpiece of stories worthy of supermarket tabloids and is entertaining as they come. I say this was the high point of Sunn Classic Pictures. Catch it if you can. It's worth the trouble.

I just wish that they would make a propper DVD release of it, where it has been remastered.

It would be nice to have a DVD. I have the old tape that was made in the 80s by Vid-America.

Sunn Classic Pictures has a website. The last time I looked they didn't have any DVDs for sale.
