I think I figured this picture out

This is a movie made by someone who HATES winter sports, has an incredible amount of contempt for people who play in winter sports, and it was made for people who also hate winter sports and want to see them all perish. None of the winter sports portrayed were invested in the slightest to give it an appearance of authenticity. The only thing downhill skiers do is tuck and go as fast as possible. The only thing ice dancers do is spin. Spin spin spin and spin, nothing else, just spin. The only thing snowmobilers do is wipe out like they have the coordination of a Parkinson's disease sufferer auditioning for a role on Jackass.

If you're a real Grinch when it comes to people who worship winter sports you can stop the movie at the 61 minute 48 second mark and call it a happy ending.
