Badly Underrated
Man this film is superb, the director had me in the palm of his hand. I love how all the characters in the film are so morally ambiguous...

I agree this movie is very underrated. Even as a fan and collector of sleazy movies, I only discovered it when Blue Underground threw it on their website's coming soon page.
And then when I saw it I was blown away. This is every bit as good as countless American road movies. I even liked it more than Easy Rider and Breakdown. Hell, the cinematography often comes close to the quality of No Country For Old Men! OK sure so Franco and David are completely absurd characters and the wife's motivations are rather hard to believe but hey, for an Italian sleaze flick, this is high quality. All the plot points make sense, the pacing is correct, twists keep it thrilling and the action is tight as a drum.
Very high quality movie. It may be a bit disappointing to those seeking out Rape/Revenge movies since it's not really angled that way, but as a Sleazy Revenge Thriller it's the bee's knees.
Agree. This film has clearly been poured all over by Tarantino; excellent score, excellent twists and humour. This film is head over heels above the normal Italian 'tits 'n' blood' fare...it is a subversive road movie, and the ending is superb.
The first few minutes (with the awful singing etc.) made me relax into my seat and expect the usual *beep* Italian fare that I love, but I was surprised...it was actually really good!
David Hess is good in this, and perhaps 'kept on a leash' just enough - unlike 'House on the Edge of the Park' which is a bit like a parody of his most well known characters. Franco Nero ends up being the real pyscho, and what a great character he is; a warped, bitter, manipulative *beep*
