The THREE hour 'Return' Mini-Series Wanted

This Australian Irwin Allen-tragic seeks the very rare three hour show - not the edited two hour "Amazing" one - and will cover postage costs if you have it. I am willing to wait years for an email response to this.

Oh, so you guys actually want the extended underwater battle scenes with the scuba divers? That and a bit more footage/dialogue of Jose Ferrer and Linda Day George in the bathosphere was all there was that made the difference between "Amazing" and "Return of" Captain Nemo.

Good Lord ddc300, you are an amazing fellow when it comes to knowing rare Irwin Allen facts. I have been reading your many IMDb message board posts over the last year or so.
Scuba diving footage sometimes (but not always) looks a bit dull on film so I am a bit let down on your report about the lost footage. The Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea series had some scuba diving (studio tank) footage with the monsters going crazy that is still cool to watch, but without the monsters...you don't have much to look at but water.

As for Jose and Linda talking away together? They must do a lot of talking if they (and the divers) fill the whole lost 50 minutes? ddc300, do you remember anything else, even quotes, from the lost footage?

Well I got my hands on it and DDC is right, nothing of interest is added. I was hoping there was some cut Atlantis footage or something but the is right, boring scuba and a few little tidbits here and there, some in the beginning before they get the refit. Now DDC can you answer this? It was stated I think in Starlog that a remodeled Seaview was used in the pitch reel for this series, can you confirm or deny that such a reel of film exists?

Will try and find out if this 'pitch film' were made. As I answered at another Nemo thread, I would be surprised if indeed such a film exists.

Actually, yes I would. The scuba scenes are the reason I went looking for this. So if anyone knows where the unedited version is, I'd love to see it again.

Seems to me a big sub battle is missing.

If I recall correctly at the end Tor abandons the professor and takes over the Raven in his desire to destroy the Nautilus once and for all.

A copy of the full mini-series has turned up on TV Vault. I have to watch it more carefully, but I think even the scuba scenes are different. For instance, in the movie version, there's a bit in the scuba battle near the end, where one of the henchman divers gets shot in the back by either Nemo or the guy in the yellow wetsuit (I forget the character name off the top of my head). You see the guy get zapped, and he sort of convulses as he sinks to the bottom, then Nemo and his dive buddy hijack the henchman's u/w scooter.

But that bit doesn't appear to happen in the miniseries. It looks as if that in addition to cutting stuff out, they also added a few "new" bits for the movie.
