Just discovered this again.

I can remember this being shown when I was young, BBC1 broadcast it over Easter 1981, I mostly remember the "Fire Delta Beam!" sequences but seeing it again on YouTube brought back a lot of memories.

Looking at it now the flaws in it are all too obvious but I thought Jose Ferrer was very good as Nemo, The scene where he meets the two divers reminded me of when Morbius first met the Bellerophon officers in Forbidden Planet because of the way he seemed to enjoy their inability to believe what they were seeing. Burgess Meredith was also a good villain.

Given the amount of talent that was involved with this it could have been a successful show, but as others have said, in trying to make it like Star Wars it all went horribly wrong.
