Michael Mann should make a 'Vega$' movie...

This was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid so I just picked up volume 1 of season 1 yesterday and watched the first three episodes,....sure brings back memories. I had forgotten that Dan Tanna liked to wear the vest from a three-piece suit along with his jeans and denim shirts! Lol.

I was thinking that since Michael Mann created the show and went on to become a bit-time director, he should do a VEGA$ movie since a lot of 80s TV shows are being remade into movies these days.

Las Vegas itself has changed drastically from the early 80s, so think about the great action sequences Mann could film at all the new casinos and LV locations.

I agree, but can't think of any current actor who should play Dan. Any ideas?

I don't know who could play Dan. Maybe find an up-and-coming actor who has been in a few movies, but hasn't really made it "big" yet,......kind of like the casting of Chris Pine to play Kirk in the newest STAR TREK movie.

I would rather seen an unkown step into the role and "become" Dan Tanna, instead of seeing some major star do it. A VEGA$ movie should be about the character of Dan Tanna and his adventures and not so much as be about the "big star" chosen to play him.

I agree with the unknown, Robert Urich, was only on 'SWAT' and 'Soap' in minor roles, before he came on the scene with 'Vega$'.
The remake could work as a show or movie, just which ever they do please have them film it on location in Las Vegas, where I live now, not 2nd unit shots and California filling in for Las Vegas, like 'CSI', "Las Vegas", or 'The Defenders'. That is what the new 'Hawaii Five 0' has going for it.
The remake could be updated so Dan Tanna is War On Terror vet (instead of Vietnam) working the streets of Las Vegas.

I think Josh Duhamel would make a good Dan Tanna , he has a similar build and that all American boy next door look same as Robert Urich. I doubt he would do it sense he was allready a Danny from Vegas in "Las Vegas".

Josh Duhamel has done his Vegas show already, which was horrific. I think Jensen Ackles (From "Supernatural") would make a great Dan Tanna. He is about the same age as Robert Urich when he did "VEGA$".

I think Josh Duhamel is a great choice. He has many of the same physical qualities and charm that Robert Urich had.
