What does a yellow light mean might be funny at first.

But then it gets old and boring real fast on repeat viewings.

I have it on DVD and have to skip though that whenever I watch it.

That's the thing about comedy. It's never quite as funny when you know it's coming.

The secret to keeping something like that funny, is too not watch it very often.

Until i watched al of Taxi on DVD, it had been years since i'd seen that episode.

I laughed like it was the first time I'd ever heard it. That and in other shows as well. Especially Alex Disco Dancing in the gay bar to "Do The Boogaloo" by Quango & Sparky (A rare and hard to find song from 1980).

For me personally, things i find funny at first, 9 times out 10, stay funny. There's exceptions ,like silly things you find funny as a kid or teen bur..GOOD comedy is always funny.

Go for it or just be a gopher!

The yellow light scene is hilarious. In fact, every scene with Jim is hilarious to me.

My favorites are when he plays the piano, when he plays Pacman, everyone including Jim trying to buy paintings, Jim hiding in Louie's end of world bunker, and Jim selling encyclopedias.

I agree that he really is great comedy relief and those are good examples.
"I must have taken lessons somewhere."

Just that yellow light thing over and over and over again gets old.

I'm like that with I Love Lucy. The really "iconic" jokes and scenes aren't as funny to me because they're constantly referenced, like Vitameatavegamin and the chocolate assembly line. I guess it could also apply to comedy movies where they show certain funny scenes over and over again in the trailers so when you finally see the movie, you're burnt out on them.

reply

Yup. Exactly.

No doubt she did other funny sight gags but for some reason they keep on coming back to the same ones that makes it get old real quick.
