The show improves by gigantic leaps as it goes on...

I just finished the fifth episode and they keep getting better. Andy cracks me up, I love when he's talking to his evil self and completely agrees with the insults. With every episode it seems they were getting the characters and the timing more down. The laugh track at first is distracting, though I find the idea of a laugh track in space funny in itself, but it seems either less noticeable or else it tones down as it goes on.

People criticize the roughness of it but as a sci fi spoof it was in new territory, and the early episodes of Seinfeld, and a lot of other good shows, are pretty rough. The pilot had some weak moments but so do a lot of pilots, and this one was in uncharted quadrants of comedy. I'm definitely glad that they were able to make what episodes they did, I mean there's not really many more episodes of Fawlty Towers.

I love seventies space effects, I must admit. I love the look of it when they're going through the black hole.

Agreed. This show does get better with every episode. Pity only eight in total were made.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

Yes, I was thinking that when I was watching the series this week. It just kept getting better. I also loved picking out what other sci-fi shows it was spoofing from! Down to the console of the space station being the same as Doctor Who's!
